F-20 Standard
The second smallest model in the Fairbanks lineup, the F-20 faithfully reproduces the depression era small bodied guitars that were popular with performers like Woody Guthrie and countless blues players. Typical of the early production years of this model, the Fairbanks F-20 sports a small, ‘target’ burst, a comfortably shallow body, and dark stained ‘Sheraton brown’ mahogany back and sides.
Punchy and loud, but sweet and mellow when you want it, the F-20 will blend perfectly into an old-time string band or be the perfect picking companion on your front porch.

F-20 Argentine Grey
A tribute to the wonderfully odd L-2 produced in the very early 1930’s, this model features a subtle amber/green/tobacco burst with multiple body purflings and gold glitter bordering the top and soundhole. There are many theories why the term Argentine Grey was used in the Kalamazoo catalogs as a descriptor for this model, but as Argentin is Latin for silver, I tend to believe that the greenish/brown burst on surviving examples were originally a black/grey burst before the colors faded, leaving the blue undertones of the black to blend with the yellowing lacquer. At any rate, I aim to reproduce the final result: an amber burst with a tinge of olive. Featherweight, responsive, and unique!
