Placing an Order

To place your order for a Fairbanks guitar, you can contact one of our dealers or us directly. If you'd like to go through us, we require a non-refundable deposit of $500 to get a place in our queue. The amount of time from receipt of a deposit to delivery changes often, so you will get an APPROXIMATE completion date when you place your order. Once all the details and particulars are set, we will email or snail mail an invoice and contract. No instrument is shipped until the final payment, plus shipping and insurance costs, is paid. Lead time is very rarely over a year. My cost for wood and supplies go up most every year, so be sure to place your order by December 31st to get that year's price!

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Every Fairbanks guitar is guaranteed to be free of defects in materials and workmanship and is covered under a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner. Our guitars are world-class instruments that excel in tone, quality and beauty, but if you are not satisfied for any reason (please tell us the reason!), you can decide to return it WITHIN 48 HOURS. You must contact us directly (860 904 8808) to arrange for the return. If the guitar arrives back to us in the same condition as it left, you will receive a full refund, minus the $500 deposit. If the guitar is highly customized or has unusual features, refunds will be given ONLY upon resale, and only for the resale amount. Refunds will not be given for resale amounts exceeding the original invoice price of the guitar.

All shipping and insurance charges are calculated before delivery and NOT included in the invoice. Shipping and insurance charges for returns are the responsibility of the customer. Any damage that occurs during the return shipment of a guitar is the responsibility of the customer and carrier. No refunds will be given for guitars damaged during shipping.

If your guitar needs work or repair, please contact us so we can assess whether the work it needs will be under warranty. Items that do not fall under warranty include, but are not limited to:

  • • Damage caused by the weather (too hot, too dry, too wet, 'it was in Nashville during the flood', etc.)
  • • Damage to the finish
  • • Necessary work due to the normal aging process (neck resets, fret jobs, etc)
  • • Other normal wear and tear

If we establish that the repair work will be covered under warranty, we will do it ourselves or use a trusted tech in your area at our expense. Damage caused by unauthorized work is not covered under warranty. 

Shipping

When your guitar is finished, and after we have received the final payment plus shipping and insurance, we will ship via UPS. We find that they are the most reliable and affordable. During the extremely dry winter months, we will most likely ship overnight, to avoid potential damage. If you prefer a different carrier, please let us know.
